Tricks & Treats

In here there be monsters.
There be slimy, slithering eels.
All the girls are running faster,
spooky boogey man is on their heels.

Jack O'Lantern is out searching.
The gords and turnips are all lit.
Mixed souls and spirits turning,
to spells that have been writ.

In here there is true wonder.
There is a spectacle to be seen.
Black boxes filled with tricks or treats,
carried by children's gleam.

A veil between two worlds.
We are neither here nor there.
We are spirits in truth eternal.
We are watchers. We are aware.

In here there be mystic portals.
Spiraling circles filled with light.
Ghosts and goblins, tricks and treats.
Under the moon so bright.

So hallowed is this night of relish,
in which all creatures delight.
Spark the candles, speak the words.
May you find your treats tonight.
